About this event
This event aims to explore the connection between African American psychology and the generational impact of music on the psychological development of the Black community, led by the FAMU Psychology Department/Club. This will be done by interactively exploring the genres of Black music through time and the psychology behind how music helps us process or suppress emotions, particularly as African Americans with generational and sometimes genetic trauma. This event will include interactive performances from Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity of America and Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity.
Hosted by: Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc., Psychology Club, Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity
