- ➤ Kim Rivers, CEO of Trulieve, helped drive the federal move to reclassify marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III — a change signed in December that eases tax rules and spurs research — which may boost business for the Tallahassee based cannabis industry. Tallahassee Reports

- ➤ After multiple rollover wins, Florida Lotto’s jackpot climbed to $12 million for the Jan. 3 drawing & its next drawing is set for Jan. 7 as players await their chance, while a $1.817 billion Powerball ticket sold in Cabot has until June 22 to claim its prize. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ Nehemiah Chandler, a former All-Big Bend defensive back from Wakulla, joined FSU football after spending last season at South Alabama and visited the campus on Saturday. He is expected to compete for a starting role in the Seminoles' secondary as the transfer portal remains open until Jan. 16. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ FSU football is set to host UNLV transfer quarterback Anthony Colandrea for a visit today as the team searches for a new signal caller. Colandrea (a Lakewood High star who impressed in Las Vegas) could boost FSU’s offense if he signs. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Florida State men's basketball lost with a score of 91 to 87 to Duke on Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Donald L. Tucker Center as guard Isaiah Evans led Duke with 28 points. The Seminoles will face NC State on Saturday, Jan. 10 at noon in Tallahassee. Tallahassee Democrat
