- ➤ Florida State University held a ribbon cutting on Jan. 6 for its new nearly 220,000 sqft College of Business building (Legacy Hall) that features modern classrooms, study spaces, and dining areas for students. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Challenger Learning Center is hosting educational events to mark the 40th anniversary of the Challenger space shuttle tragedy from Jan 10 to Jan 28 in Tallahassee, including hands-on activities, a documentary screening, and a memorial ceremony & a legacy campaign to upgrade its facilities. - ➤ The CDC revised its childhood vaccination guidelines on Jan. 5, moving some vaccines to a shared decision-making process and reducing the routine shots. Florida health officials are reviewing the changes — the state has signaled plans to end vaccine mandates. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ HCA Florida Healthcare’s Consult-A-Nurse hotline gives residents free, 24-hour access to licensed nurses who guide them on whether winter symptoms need urgent care. Callers can get advice and be referred to emergency services or a physician — all available at 844-70-NURSE. Tallahassee Reports
