- ➤ The annual Tallahassee Highland Games take place today and tomorrow at Apalachee Regional Park (featuring bagpipes, athletic contests, dancing, and family fun) as part of a celebration of Scottish tradition. WCTV
- ➤ FSU School of Dance professor Jawole Willa Jo Zollar received an Obie Award on Jan. 31 and her opera production 'Intelligence' won a Grammy for Best Opera Recording, highlighting her creative impact and reinforcing her teaching—achievements that align with her widely respected career in dance and opera. - ➤ The Florida Education Association held a press conference in Tallahassee on Thursday to urge leaders to address public school funding, equity and teacher shortages. - ➤ County Commissioner Christian Caban delivered emergency water boxes, portable showers & toilets to 44 homes in Florida Sun Estates 2 on Thursday, Feb. 5 after residents suffered a week without water. He visited the community on Aenon Church Trail to assess repair needs. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ FSU soccer talent Evan O’Steen and Solai Washington have turned pro, signing with Seattle Reign & Orlando Pride after their NCAA championship win. The debut match is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 15 when the Pride will host the Reign. FSU News
- ➤ Italian short track speed skater Arianna Fontana (with Tallahassee ties through coach-husband Anthony Lobello) will compete in her sixth Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, Italy. She hopes to win more medals as she builds on her recent European gold. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Florida A&M softball opened its season Friday at Campbell University’s Stampede Tournament in Buies Creek, facing Howard and Campbell.
