- ➤ The Leon County Property Appraiser’s Office hosts its Food Truck Round-Up on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Althemese Pemberton Barnes Park near Cascades Park, where local food trucks serve and homeowners can apply for property tax exemptions & support United Way. WCTV

- ➤ Bobby Bowden’s legacy auction will feature his Killearn Estates home & memorabilia as longtime assistant Sue Hall revisits the residence to share cherished memories. The auction is scheduled for late March and offers fans a piece of local history. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ The North Florida Wildlife Center unveiled Tropical Treasures, an immersive bird exhibit featuring toucans, hornbills and other exotic species for Valentine’s Day as part of its Lovebirds event. - ➤ Rickards High student Chetan Posani will join 39 others on a free trip with the Florida Debate Initiative to Washington, D.C. from April 6 to 9, where he will learn about government through tours (including a mock Congressional hearing) and visits to historical landmarks. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ Yesterday, Tallahassee experienced a line of storms that brought gusts over 60 mph and a brief tornado threat between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. A Wind Advisory was in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to protect residents (securing loose outdoor items and preparing for power outages). Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ FSU’s Institute for Governance and Civic hosted DOJ Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon on Thursday, Feb. 12 where she discussed federal civil rights policies and challenges with campus attendees—audience questions focused on free speech and due process. FSU News

- ➤ Tallahassee Living Healthy is launching its first plant-based potluck with a special talk by Dr. Cielo Rose on Tuesday, Feb. 17 for Heart Month.
