- ➤ Parking on the Florida State University campus will change starting Thursday, Mar. 5 as Banana Ball begins its world tour in the capital city — visitors should review the new guidelines. WCTV

- ➤ Daylight saving time will begin Sunday, Mar. 8 at 2 a.m. (residents in Tallahassee should set their clocks ahead one hour) to enjoy longer evening daylight until standard time returns on Nov. 1. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Florida Highway Patrol trooper Michael Diego died Feb. 18 during training at the FHP Academy in Gadsden County and his funeral was live covered in Tallahassee as his casket returned home. An online fundraiser (raising over $14,000 of a $16,000 goal) supports his surviving family. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ The revived Indianapolis Clowns (first competing since 1989) defeated the Party Animals 4-2 before 6,700 fans at FSU's Dick Howser Stadium on Friday, Feb. 27, marking a historic return to play. FSU News
- ➤ FSU forward Thomas Bassong logged his first double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Seminoles beat Georgia Tech 80-71 on Saturday at McCamish Pavilion, Atlanta. The win moves the team to .500 in the ACC and they face Pitt Wednesday at Peterson Events Center. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ FAMU men's basketball won its third straight game by beating Grambling State (66-59) on Saturday, moving from sixth to second in SWAC standings. They will face Bethune-Cookman (the SWAC leader) on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Chiles lost 3 to 0 to Miami Lourdes Academy on Feb. 28 in the FHSAA Class 5A state final, finishing the season with a record of 15 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie and a runner up finish (2nd time). Eight seniors will graduate while a strong sophomore core promises future success. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Fred Ards III (4-star EDGE defensive lineman) listed five schools including Florida State on Jan. 28 but will still visit more contenders such as Miami, Syracuse, and Missouri this spring. He plans to commit before his senior season so he can focus on team leadership. Tallahassee Democrat
