- ➤ The 49th Battle of Natural Bridge reenactment starts Saturday, March 7 at Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park (six miles east of Woodville) with military displays and family events; camps open at 9 a.m. both days and a full battle occurs Sunday. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ FAMU hosted its annual Harambee Festival on March 5 with performances by international saxophonist BK Jackson and six-time Grammy-nominated Ashanti Floyd — drawing nearly 2,000 attendees at the campus amphitheater while celebrating Black culture and community. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Calvin's Coffee House held a phone free jazz jam on Feb. 25 that let FSU students relax and showcase their musical skills during midterms in a spirited campus gathering. The event featured performances by The Alex Barry Collective plus impromptu musician collaborations. FSU News

- ➤ Tallahassee State College unveiled a $3.6M Innovation Hub yesterday to offer tech-based learning with 3D printing, coding and lab work. The new center will host 60 to 80 students for the A.S. Day today. WCTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The NAACP held a news conference (Thursday, Mar. 5) to share civil rights concerns over the $480 million plan to transfer Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to FSU, and city commissioners will vote on the measure on Mar. 11. FOX 49
- ➤ Leon County is fighting online scams by hosting a digital safety workshop (at the main library) to help residents learn safe practices. The workshop is scheduled soon to offer practical tips amid rising scam reports. WCTV
- ➤ Clocks in Florida will advance one hour on March 8 (at 2 a.m.) as daylight saving time begins. Residents should reset their devices before the change, which will bring longer evenings until clocks fall back on November 1. Tallahassee Democrat
