  • Volunteer fire departments in Leon County face rising fuel costs as diesel now nears $6 a gallon and fill-ups for tanker trucks could hit $250 — officials say the increased cost will not affect their prompt emergency response.  WCTV
  • Today, Big Bend After Reentry received a $28,800 donation from 100 Women Who Care to fund case management, training workshops and mentoring services for formerly incarcerated residents. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fast-moving house fire on Comet Drive on Monday morning destroyed one home and damaged a nearby mobile home while firefighters evacuated all residents safely and contained the blaze in about 15 minutes with help from local authorities+ emergency services.  FOX 49

  • State university leaders formed a task force on March 23 to update college sports rules and expand NIL deals with financial education for student-athletes — the group will set guidelines to keep Florida competitive with Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare will transfer its city-owned hospital assets to FSU pending review by the State University System’s Board of Governors. The March 26 meeting at University of West Florida will approve a deal that locks in a $1.7 billion investment over the next 30 years.  WFSU
