- ➤ Today, Goodwood Museum's 33rd Annual Spring Plant Sale at the Virginia McKee Greenhouse offers over 40 native and heirloom plants from 9 a.m. to noon (members may enter at 8:30 a.m.). The sale will return on Friday, Apr. 17 and Friday, Apr. 24. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Dr. Tom Haney, a founding doctor of Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic, was surprised by a retirement celebration at DEEP Brewing Company on Tuesday, April 7. About 150 former colleagues and community members gathered to honor his 50-year legacy in sports medicine. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ Tallahassee’s Chain of Parks Art Festival will add Downtown Restaurant Week starting April 13, when local eateries offer special dining deals. The festival will run April 18–19 downtown & feature art along with culinary treats to attract visitors. Tallahassee Democrat
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dry conditions have raised wildfire risks as Leon County bans burning of yard debris including leaves, limbs, and grass until conditions improve, while the Tallahassee Fire Department advises residents to safely dispose of cigarettes and clear debris from homes. FOX 49
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Leon County Sheriff’s Office mourned the passing of K-9 Ghost, a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics dog who served since Feb. 11, 2020. He battled cancer and was laid to rest by his handler, Deputy Adam Bragg, and fellow deputies, honoring his service. FOX 49
- ➤ City officials transferred hospital assets from Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare to Florida State University on Friday evening, advancing plans for FSU Health. The university has 90 days to inspect the property + closing will occur 60 days later. ABC 27
