  • One man was hospitalized after a shootout near College Town on Friday afternoon on West Virginia Street—police said—and no suspects are in custody.  WCTV
  • The remains of 12-year-old Lori Paige—missing since June 2023—were found on April 11 and her father, Andrew Wiley, has been charged with her murder.  ABC 27
  • A Tallahassee man was given a life sentence for the 2018 kidnapping and murder of Elisa Thompson—the jury chose life over the death penalty after two hours of deliberation.  WCTV

  • The western-themed Miss Black and Old Gold Scholarship Pageant took place on March 31 at FAMU’s Lee Hall Auditorium where nine contestants competed in talent, runway and career segments for a scholarship; Gabrielle Nonor—a second-year human development major—won the crown on a platform promoting self-love and empowerment.  FSU News
