- ➤ Tallahassee hosted its first-ever Dessert Fest at the TSC Student Union—local bakers offered dessert samples, a scavenger hunt engaged families, and a kiddie judging panel scored treats—and organizers Terrisa and Jeremy Anderson planned the event to support small businesses while already planning for next year. - ➤ Ron Sachs, whose daughter Aimee died in May, is promoting the Donate Life Florida initiative (a statewide organ donor campaign) after her organ donations saved the lives of two young men and a young mother; more than 5,000 Floridians are on the transplant waitlist (with fewer than two out of five drivers registered).
