- ➤ Florida State University's Alpha Delta Pi sorority presented a nearly $30,000 check—gift from its diamond man competition—to Ronald McDonald House today to support families with a sick child receiving treatment in Tallahassee. - ➤ One week after a shooting killed two men and hurt several others, FSU students gathered near the Westcott Building on Thursday to urge the university to denounce white supremacy, and FSU police arrested Tavyan Lain Dorsey (the demonstrator leading chants) during the protest. WCTV

- ➤ The Tallahassee Pottery Market will be held on May 3 at United Church from 9 a.m.—4 p.m. where over 30 local potters, including organizer Jasmine Summer, will sell handmade cups, bowls, and other artisanal items in rain or shine conditions; the event is free and open to the public. - ➤ Florida State University archived memorial items from a recent shooting — including candles, cards, banners, signs and stuffed animals — to preserve the memory of the tragedy. - ➤ A U.S. District Court judge blocked parts of the Florida law that made it a crime to enter the state without permission, saying it interferes with federal power over immigration — State Attorney Jack Campbell told 23 law enforcement agencies to ignore the law’s sections on long prison terms for undocumented immigrants.
