- ➤ Dozens of dogs are ready to be adopted at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center as the shelter waives adoption fees this weekend to clear the kennels. The shelter, located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive, welcomes visitors from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday through Sunday and by appointment during the week. WCTV

- ➤ Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Thursday to reports of gunfire in the 200-block of Palmetto Street in south Tallahassee and found an adult man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead despite immediate aid. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ FSU College of Business inducted three former faculty into its Faculty Hall of Fame in March to honor their decades of service and recognized 17 current staff for their work. - ➤ The U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a public health alert on May 1 for potato chips—imported from Colombia containing pork cracklings—that must not be eaten after routine checks revealed prohibited meat products.
