- ➤ Florida lawmakers return to Tallahassee tomorrow for a special session to finalize a state budget that may leave major school projects unfunded. - ➤ Tallahassee officials are offering free hurricane preparedness workshops to help families get ready for the season starting June 1. - ➤ Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Florida will offer an extended red snapper fishing season in 2026 with 140 Gulf days and 39 Atlantic days starting May 22, under a state-driven management plan (approved by the feds) to boost angler access and coastal economies. FOX 49
