  • At a luncheon on May 16, the TSO board announced that Maestro Yaniv Dinur was chosen as the new music director after reviewing five finalists. He will split his time with the New Bedford Symphony and lead local concerts as the board praised his musicianship and vision for the orchestra—marking a fresh chapter in Tallahassee's cultural life.  Tallahassee Democrat

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Marva Johnson was selected Friday as Florida A&M’s final candidate for its next president by the Board—after interviewing four candidates. The Board set a salary range of $450,000—$750,000 while former president Dr. Larry Robinson announced plans to step down in July.  WCTV

  • After a mass shooting at FSU last month that killed two people and wounded several, university system officials said they will assess campus building security by summer's end to update safety measures and plan an October summit for policy recommendations—Chancellor Ray Rodrigues added that the review will help shape budget requests for the 2026 legislative session.  Tallahassee Reports
