- ➤ Tallahassee Collegiate Academy, a charter school affiliated with Tallahassee State College, held its first graduation on May 13 for 12 graduates (the Diva Dozen), with nine having completed college coursework and two earning associate degrees with 4.0 GPAs. - ➤ Today, Riley Elementary is using new strategies with teacher support as students take state exams to improve their school grade from a C to an A. - ➤ More than a dozen protestors gathered at the Capitol on Saturday to oppose proposals by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to reinstate black bear hunting, which has been banned since 2015. Protestors argued that securing trash properly—rather than reintroducing a bear hunt—is a better solution and that FWC will review public input at its meeting scheduled for May 21 to 22 in Ocala.
