  • Public safety agencies from Leon County and Tallahassee hosted the second annual summer kickoff at North Florida Fairgrounds last Saturday—families enjoyed water slides, dancing, food and interactive displays that allowed children to explore emergency vehicles.  WCTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On May 24, Leon High School celebrated its class of 2025 at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center — 413 graduates crossed the stage and shook hands with Principal Michael Bryan and Superintendent Rocky Hanna. Hundreds of parents, family members and friends gathered to honor the graduates.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • On Saturday, dozens gathered at Tallahassee National Cemetery for a Memorial Day ceremony as Chaplain Jon Folsom led a tribute that included a wreath-laying and rifle salute by the Big Bend Honor Guard — honoring local service members who gave their lives.  WCTV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Memorial Day cookouts scheduled for tomorrow in Tallahassee will follow food safety tips — such as keeping cold foods cold and using a food thermometer — to prevent foodborne illness. Experts say that preventing cross-contamination and adhering to safe cooking practices will help everyone enjoy a safe meal.  Tallahassee Democrat
