- ➤ The National Hurricane Center is updating its forecast cone for the 2026 hurricane season to include tropical storm and hurricane watches and warnings for both coastal and inland counties (Kelly Godsey at the National Weather Service explained the change will help residents prepare). ABC 27
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Valwood baseball beat Deerfield-Windsor 9-8 on Saturday in Statesboro to win its first state championship. The win also gave the Valiants their first outright region title and marked their first 20-win season. WCTV
- ➤ Florida State's baseball game against Coastal Carolina was suspended after weather delays Saturday at Howser Stadium. The game will resume today in the morning with FSU leading Coastal Carolina by 2 to 1. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Officials suspended the elimination game between Florida State and Coastal Carolina after five innings and long rain delays, leaving FSU with a 2-1 lead in Tallahassee. The final four innings will be played today once weather conditions improve. WCTV
- ➤ FSU baseball hosted St. John's Friday, May 29 at Dick Howser Stadium in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional. FSU players made strong plays — the game showed the team's competitive drive. Tallahassee Democrat
