- ➤ On June 2, Governors Square Mall closed when a water pipe broke in its parking lot and a repair crew began work, while a JCPenney sign explained the closure (repairs continue into today). Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ A water main break caused Governor's Square Mall to remain closed Monday as crews worked to repair a sinkhole in the parking lot — a security guard said the mall might reopen later that day while Dillard’s stayed open on its own water system. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ Leon County man Demontarivous Robinson, 32, was convicted on May 30 for a 2022 home invasion at his ex-girlfriend’s home when he held her boyfriend at gunpoint at 6:30 a.m. on March 17 and was found guilty on five felony counts involving firearms, including home invasion robbery & kidnapping to facilitate a felony with a firearm, with charges for armed carjacking, armed robbery & possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. - ➤ FSU College of Music is hosting the International Society of Bassists Convention from June2 to 7—marking the event’s first visit to the Southeast and drawing bass experts and music fans to Tallahassee. - ➤ House Speaker Daniel Perez and Senate President Ben Albritton reached a budget framework agreement Friday that clears the way for conference committees to meet Tuesday to hammer out spending details for a new fiscal year starting July 1—this plan includes $900 million in tax cuts from ending a commercial lease tax, $350 million in permanent sales tax exemptions for families, $250 million for debt reduction, and $750 million for a rainy-day fund—pending final legislative approval.
