- ➤ George Ellis, a longtime swim coach and a local legend, visited the Lawrence-Gregory Community Center on June 19th to share his journey at the Robinson-Trueblood Pool and donate $1,000 for the summer program. - ➤ Florida State University's College of Music announced its 2025-2026 concert season, featuring over 35 concerts, operas, festivals and showcases that blend classic pieces with new works. - ➤ Today, the Tallahassee State College District Board approved a charter school application from Charter Schools USA for the Innovation Academy of Excellence—a new public charter middle school on the TSC campus that will open in August after final approval by the Florida Department of Education. - ➤ The Lightning Safety Council warned that when thunder is heard, people must get indoors because lightning can strike more than 10 miles from a storm, and they advised waiting 30 minutes after the last sound before returning outside + National Lightning Safety Awareness Week runs until Saturday, June 28th.
