- ➤ Tallahassee Police said a man died and a suspect was taken into custody after a shooting on South Adams Street early Sunday morning—officials are still investigating the incident. WCTV
- ➤ Two brothers detained in May at a Tallahassee construction site for new student housing pleaded guilty to illegally reentering the United States—Candido Hurtado-Solano is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11 while Juan Hurtado-Solano’s sentencing remains pending, and both face up to two years in prison with removal from the country. - ➤ FSU College of Law students Lauren Evans and Tazara Fields worked with professors Paolo Annino and Emmalyn Dalton to help pass House Bill 1237, a law signed by Governor Ron DeSantis last week that requires school staff to get training to spot human trafficking signs—aimed at protecting vulnerable children. They spent months preparing testimony and building bipartisan support to bring the bill from concept to passage—demonstrating a strong role in shaping state policy. Florida State University
- ➤ The City of Tallahassee has opened applications for its 2025 Neighborhood Awards Program to honor residents and neighborhoods for improvements made in 2024 + the program includes categories for Outstanding Neighbor and Neighborhood of the Year.
