- ➤ A Tallahassee woman, Nancy Williams, received a 15-year sentence for DUI manslaughter after she lost control of her vehicle on June 27, 2024, striking a surveyor near Bannerman Road and failing to help him—she requested 12 years but the state imposed the maximum penalty due to her failure to render aid in light of her previous work as a nurse. - ➤ Phoenix Ikner is charged with first degree murder and additional counts for the mass shooting at the FSU campus in April — his case management hearing was held on July 16th. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Daniel Balan, a 46-year-old Romanian national, was indicted on federal charges for using skimmers to steal over $85,000 from local banks — he fled by bike, crashed and was caught with stolen gift cards, fake IDs and bank cards. WCTV

- ➤ Tallahassee will host a range of summer events starting tomorrow with Young Actors Theatre’s Newsies running July 18–27 at 609 Glenview Drive and King Cotton performing Friday at the American Legion Hall for $15 admission. The city also offers a VHS Fest at Cap City Video Lounge on July 19, a makers market at MoFA on July 19, and comedian Nate Bargatze at Tucker Civic Center on July 20—providing many ways for residents to enjoy the season.
