- ➤ Big Randy's in Woodville — located on Oak Ridge Road — is planning to expand as owner Jason Kornegay considers a new site in Tallahassee or his Crawfordville hometown. - ➤ A 26-year-old Bristol man named John Caleb Allen fired multiple rounds at ATF agents and Liberty County Sheriff's deputies while they executed a federal warrant at his home on July 24 — officers sustained minor injuries and he now faces charges for assault and illegal possession of a machine gun. - ➤ Florida Congressman Neal Dunn said he is fighting to restore nearly $16 million in federal funding for Tallahassee's Mag Lab after a proposed 40% cut—he made his case at the White House policy office. Dunn said the lab helps the U.S. keep up with China in tech work, supports over 500 jobs, and adds more than $325 million to Florida’s economy. WCTV

- ➤ Florida passed a law that requires an electrocardiogram for every middle and high school athlete before sports – the rule will go into effect in Fall 2026 to check for hidden heart conditions.
