- ➤ Donna Adelson is back in court today for the fifth day of her trial over the murder-for-hire plot that killed her ex son-in-law Dan Markel—state investigators presented email evidence linking her to the case while a large crowd filled every seat. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ A Tallahassee man pleaded guilty to multiple federal charges from two incidents involving drugs and firearms — including a fatal shooting — and he faces at least 10 years in prison with sentencing set for 10 a.m. on Nov. 17 at the U.S. Courthouse. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ A Lincoln High School student was detained Monday after a handgun was found in his parked car on campus—marking the third weapons incident in two school days as school resource officers confiscated the weapon and questioned him following his admission of possession. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Florida officials announced a surge in immigration enforcement at semi-truck checkpoints after a fatal Aug. 12 crash killed three when an undocumented truck driver made an illegal U-turn—tougher measures and more troopers will be deployed along state roads. ABC 27
- ➤ On Friday, Leon County deputies said a 15-year-old Godby High student was arrested when a teacher found a .45 revolver in his bag after he left class without permission—while a 17-year-old Rickards High student was removed from class when officials found a taser and pepper spray in her belongings—both were taken to a juvenile assessment center.
