- ➤ Today, during the sixth day of testimony, Donna Adelson faces trial for allegedly conspiring in the murder of her former son-in-law Dan Markel during a custody dispute+ a jury of 12 will decide if she shares the same charges her son was convicted of last fall. WCTV

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ After a deadly campus shooting in April, Florida State University installed panic and lockdown buttons—along with new door locks—in security updates detailed at an Aug. 29 board meeting. The university has spent nearly $30 million on safety improvements over the past four years and will add more measures before the fall semester begins. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ On August 28, Leon County high school golf teams from Chiles, Florida High, Leon, St. JPII, Maclay and Rickards competed in boys and girls tournaments at local courses in Tallahassee — Chiles and Leon debuted their season while standout performances from Rhys Cochran, Solomon Hardy and Peyton Johnson led their teams to top finishers.
