ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An older sedan caught fire on I-10 West near mile marker 183 on Sunday afternoon, slowing traffic and leading to a chain-reaction crash when a 20-year-old Tallahassee driver in a Jeep hit the burning car — three drivers were seriously injured and one passenger was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.  WCTV

  • Florida Publix supermarkets are open on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1—running with regular hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. so shoppers can pick up items for Holiday cookouts.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • The Tallahassee Police Department said that a man was injured in a shooting—one person was arrested on Saturday evening.  WCTV

  • FSU football linebacker Juice Cryer said the Seminoles worked hard during their upset over Alabama—he stressed that effort was the key to the win.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Florida State named former guard Luke Loucks as its new head coach to replace Leonard Hamilton after the season spanning 2024 to 2025. Loucks, who coached in the NBA+ played at FSU, will bring strength training methods and focus on building team unity for improved performance.  FSU News
  • FAMU football lost 10-9 to Howard on August 30 at Hard Rock Stadium when Howard’s kicker made a walk-off 43-yard field goal—coach James Colzie III said the team must work harder as the Rattlers will play Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6.  Tallahassee Democrat
