CRIME NEWS

  • FSU football player Ethan Pritchard was shot near Havana Heights Apartments just before 10 p.m. on Sunday and was rescued from a vehicle and taken to a local hospital—investigators are still determining what led to the shooting.  WCTV
  • On Sept. 1 at 7:03 p.m., gunshots hit the pool area at Redpoint Tallahassee on Mission Road, injuring two people who were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries—police are still investigating the incident.  FSU News
  • FSUPD sent a campus-wide alert on Aug. 31 after a sexual battery was reported in an east side residence hall during a football game, where the incident occurred between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.—the department is actively investigating and urging students to use available safety resources.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • Florida State football chose to go for it on 4th and 1 at their own 31 yard line, and a strong offensive line produced 236 rushing yards and four touchdowns—setting up a key touchdown by Gavin Sawchuk that led to the 31-17 upset win over No. 8 Alabama.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • On Sept.1, Florida State upset Alabama 31—17 at Doak Campbell Stadium as the Seminoles rallied after trailing 7—0; Miami edged Notre Dame 27—24 with a late field goal, and the Florida Gators defeated Long Island University 55—0, USF beat No.25 Boise State 34—7, and UCF rallied past Jacksonville State 17—14, marking a strong start for state teams in Week 1 of college football.  Tallahassee Democrat
