- ➤ T-Pain announced that a free block party on T-Pain Lane will take place on Oct 17 during FAMU homecoming week—he said the event will include games, karaoke, food, music and more to celebrate his 20-year milestone and thank the community. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ A new photo exhibit called 'The American South' will open at Gadsden Arts Center in Quincy on September 26th from 5 to 7:30 p.m. It will show 54 works by Guggenheim Fellows, Gordon Parks and Jimmy Nicholson that explore Southern history and culture — highlighting the region's heritage. - ➤ FSU broke its own records in graduation and retention rates by reaching a 78% four-year graduation rate and a 97% first-year retention rate—transfer students also saw over 80% graduating within three years. - ➤ On Sept. 3, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo announced plans to end vaccine mandates with support from Gov. Ron DeSantis — saying parents should choose for their children. - ➤ Bear Warriors United filed a second lawsuit in Tallahassee on Sept 17th to block the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission from issuing 187 permits for a December bear hunt. - ➤ Tallahassee commissioners narrowly voted on Wednesday to end the fire contract with Leon County by a 3—2 margin. - ➤ Florida officials removed nearly 18,000 dangerous 7-OH products from store shelves after Attorney General James Uthmeier announced in Jacksonville on Thursday that concentrated kratom extracts are now classified as a Schedule I controlled substance — the seized items, which include gummies, energy drinks, vapes, and powders, will be incinerated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
