  • Moccasin Grove opened its U-Pick pumpkin patch at 9214 Herold Hill Road and is open today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., letting visitors pick pumpkins, flowers, and enjoy a corn maze for a fun fall outing. Owner Lizz Bass said the farm now offers a safe place for families to learn where their food comes from—an educational experience for the community.  WCTV
  • Organizers announced the new Tallahassee Flea Market location next month at 47-21 Capital Circle Southwest—about 1.5 miles from its former site—after the 41-year event paused this summer because winter storms caused costly damage. Vendors are preparing to return as the market moves to its new home—eager to revive the local tradition.  WCTV

  • FAMU athletic director Angela Suggs, accused of misusing a former employer's credit card for about $24,000, has entered a pretrial intervention program—if she meets conditions including gambling addiction treatment and repaying nearly $650, her charges for grand theft and fraud will be dismissed.  WCTV

  • The Florida Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation is celebrating its 40th anniversary today at 10 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church with a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony honoring outstanding leaders and the dedication of Dr. DuShun Scarbrough—inviting the community to join in marking this milestone.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • The Cultura Tallahassee: Los Colores de la Comunidad exhibit opened on Sept. 20 at the Leon County Main Public Library and will run through Oct. 8. Artist Zulay Romero uses repurposed materials in her work to share her immigrant story and healing journey — a message linking local Hispanic culture with hope.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • Former Leon County Commissioner Bruce J Host died early Sept. 26 surrounded by family, and county officials recalled him as a true gentleman who always treated people with respect—he championed local projects, served as Florida State Director for the Selective Service System, and founded the Florida Veterans Hall of Fame. His legacy is honored by the renaming of the Northeast Branch Library that he helped inspire during his two terms from 1992 to 2000.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • Tallahassee coffee shops are gearing up for National Coffee Day tomorrow by serving fall drinks like pumpkin spice and maple pancake lattes. Local spots such as Black Dog Cafe and Lucky Goat Coffee are debuting special seasonal drinks to mark the start of autumn.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • On Friday, Dr. Samuel Carter, CEO of Carter’s Corner, visited Pineview Elementary School to hand out a sports-themed coloring book that shows kids ways to work in sports beyond playing—he said the books can help them plan for future careers.   • Florida A&M football lost 42 to 14 in a home game against Alabama State on Sept. 27, leaving the team with a record of 1 to 3 and head coach James Colzie III warning he will turn the season around—or he won’t be here.   • High school football games on Friday, September 26 were played by teams from North Florida and South Georgia with final scores that may affect playoff standings in November—Lowndes won over Colquitt County 31–14 in the featured Game of the Week.  WCTV

  • After a 46-38 loss to Virginia, Florida State coach Mike Norvell said the Seminoles will refocus ahead of their ACC game with Miami next weekend — a key matchup for the program. He said the team must fix early mistakes to avoid repeating the loss.  WCTV
