COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Saturday, Serve Tallahassee Food Pantry served 241 families due to SNAP benefits ending—far above the usual 160 to 180 families, and Pastor Mike Overstreet said donations did not keep pace. He expects the rise in demand to continue over the next few weeks.  WCTV
  • On Saturday, Nov. 1, over a thousand families lined up at Governors Square Mall to get groceries during the Second Harvest food drive. Nearly 100 volunteers loaded boxes, eggs, and milk into vehicles — the event supported local families in need.  Tallahassee Democrat

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Oct 30—YouTube TV dropped ESPN and ABC after Google and Disney could not agree on pricing, forcing many Florida college football fans to find other ways to watch games. Fans can watch the Florida vs Georgia game on ABC at 3:30 p.m. or use streaming services with free trials.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Jackson State beat Florida A&M 41—16 on Saturday as a 10—3 first half gave way to a strong second half where the Tigers scored 31 points. Ahmad Miller rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns and Donerio Davenport added 112 yards and one score after a fumble by Florida A&M.  WCTV
  • On Friday, Oct. 31, hundreds of Florida State Seminole fans celebrated homecoming by lining College Avenue as the Marching Chiefs performed and colorful floats tossed candy and beads — President Richard McCullough and FSU Public Safety teams were honored as grand marshals. Fans added to the festive spirit—performing the traditional Tomahawk Chop during the parade.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Florida State football won a conference game on Nov. 1 at Doak Campbell Stadium—defeating Wake Forest 42-7 to snap a 400-day ACC win drought. Duce Robinson caught a key touchdown and Samuel Singleton rushed for 91 yards as the team built its momentum with strong offense and defense.  Tallahassee Democrat
