- ➤ Starting Thursday, free Thanksgiving meals are available for 1,000 families through a new partnership between Second Harvest, Keiser University, and 211 Big Bend — the meals will be delivered the day before Thanksgiving. Families must live within an 11-mile radius of Keiser’s kitchen, covering Tallahassee’s southside neighborhoods. WCTV

- ➤ Playwright Danielle Wirsansky debuts her new play Sterling Legacy at Palaver Tree Theater (in Crawfordville) where the story shows what happens when friends find an old artifact with ties to the Holocaust; the show runs today at 8 p.m. and will have additional performances at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Nov. 15. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Florida State University is adding new support for first-generation college students who want to study abroad by launching a Global Learning Community that will send ten CARE students to South Africa in summer 2026—offering internships, language classes and cultural immersion. The program is part of the university’s Celebration of International Education, which runs through Dec. 5 and works with financial aid and scholarships to lower cost barriers. - ➤ Tallahassee crews are clearing debris at Capital City Country Club to prepare a memorial site for unmarked graves of enslaved people, with plans to build a pedestrian pathway — complete with a viewing area and history panels. City officials are reviewing a proposal to sell the 178-acre parcel leased to the country club amid public concern — and the project is moving forward after a long delay. Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ On Nov 12, 11 Chiles High School athletes signed letters of intent to attend various colleges—committing to their sports careers at the next level.
