- ➤ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has provided emergency funding to 60 food pantries & the Tallahassee Urban League will use part of the funds to supply meals to over 400,000 families facing food shortages due to lower benefits and rising food costs. The donation builds on the Church’s ongoing efforts to support those in need amid growing demand for food assistance. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ Hundreds of Leon County families will soon have everything they need for a full Thanksgiving meal thanks to the third annual Blessing Basket Giveaway—organized by Kelly Vinson, a former teacher turned real estate agent who expanded the program to all elementary schools and collected 313 baskets beyond her goal of 280. School counselors and administrators are delivering the baskets ahead of Thanksgiving and Vinson hopes to extend the effort to surrounding counties. WCTV

- ➤ Tallahassee firefighters rescued a rabbit & cat from a house fire on Pine View Drive early November 22, and all residents had evacuated though one person suffered minor burns and declined hospital treatment. ABC 27

- ➤ The Figurative Narrative exhibition at FAMU’s Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery features art by Jeff Whipple, Nan Liu and Eluster Richardson and runs through March until 2026. The show is free and the gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — located at 1630 Pinder St. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ White Mouse Theatre Productions presented the original musical Annexed at Augusta B. Conradi Studio Theatre on the FSU campus on Nov. 22. The show, set in 1950s East Berlin, told a story of hope and survival amid war hardships (highlighting themes of trust and choice). Tallahassee Democrat

- ➤ Leon County declared a burn ban due to severe drought that began November 22 and will continue until 11:59 p.m. on November 26 — the order stops all open burning unless it is approved by the Florida Forest Service. WCTV

- ➤ More than 300 people joined the annual walk at Cascades Park on Saturday—raising about $66,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association—and showing strong local support for the cause. WCTV
