ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Fire crews are working to contain a forest fire in Wakulla County that began after a call came in at 1 pm Saturday and has led to evacuations and road closures on Driftwood and River Road — officials advise residents to avoid Surf Road from Pelican Way to Highway 98.  ABC 27

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Small business owner Li Simmons of Hard Velvet Handmade said local shoppers supported her family business during Small Business Saturday. Other vendors at the Downtown Tallahassee Market also praised community support for keeping money in the local economy — a boost for local families.  WCTV

  • The Allison Christmas Spectacular light show opens in a new location this week — the move follows recent legal uncertainty regarding its venue.  WCTV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Florida's Jadan Baugh rushed for 266 yards and two touchdowns as the Gators defeated Florida State 40-21 in Gainesville on Saturday—marking the first 200-yard rushing game by a Gator since 2004.  WCTV
  • FSU women's basketball broke its three-game losing streak with an 85–75 win over Missouri State on Friday at the Coconut Hoops tournament in Fort Myers—four starters scored 10 or more points. The Seminoles will play Oklahoma today at 6:30 p.m. at Alico Arena.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Florida A&M played Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. at Rice-Totten Stadium in Itta Bena—completing a makeup game for the cancelled Georgia Football Classic.
