  • Local pastor Rev. Candace McKibben (Tallahassee Fellowship) shared a reflective Christmas message drawing on the writings of Bonhoeffer and Thurman to remind us of hope amid hardship.   • The Florida Lottery held its Powerball drawing on Dec. 24 at 10:59 p.m. from its Tallahassee studio with an estimated jackpot of $1.7 billion; tickets cost $2 + $1 per add-on for Double Play or Power Play.  Tallahassee Democrat

  • Leon snapped a four-game losing streak with three wins — including an overtime victory last week — while Madison County reached 5–2 with its third win. Big Bend girls basketball will pause for the holiday break ahead of upcoming games.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos declared for the 2026 NFL Draft on Tuesday night after finishing his season with 15 combined touchdowns & more than 2,700 yards.
