EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, Ausley McMullen Law Firm launched its inaugural Law & Leadership Program at its offices and the Leon County Courthouse where young professionals met with judges and attorneys to learn about legal careers. The program aims to fill a gap in mentorship and encourages local businesses to develop similar initiatives.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Local astronomers will host a free planetarium show titled 'January Skies over Tallahassee' at Fogg Planetarium on Jan. 3. The event will include a session for new telescope owners (doors close at 10 a.m.)  Tallahassee Democrat

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local gardening experts say residents can help fight climate change and lower cooling costs by planting canopy trees now. These trees, which boost air quality and wildlife support, should be planted in groups (ensuring proper spacing away from power lines) from December to February.  Tallahassee Democrat
