  • A curated list of 26 upcoming shows is now available for Tallahassee stages in 2026 — featuring events from rapper Plies at The Moon on Jan. 10 to Weird Al Yankovic at the Tucker Civic Center on Sept. 20.  Tallahassee Democrat

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Florida Lottery results showed that on Christmas Eve, winning Fantasy 5 tickets sold at Publix + elsewhere earned prizes, and on Christmas Day, a Winn Dixie ticket also won; officials note that the Saturday Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. in Tallahassee.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • Small business owner Gendusa urges community support to help local shops cope with slower spending after the holidays. He said the effort will keep businesses afloat and strengthen the local economy.  WCTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rickards High School’s programming club held AI literacy workshops at Mulligan Park, Cherry Laurel, and Westminster Oaks on Dec. 26 to teach seniors how to use AI tools + spot scams and deceptive content. The club plans additional sessions for interested seniors soon.  Tallahassee Democrat
  • FSU College of Business received a $65 million investment from Dr. Herbert Wertheim to support scholarships, research, and facilities (including the new Herbert Wertheim Center for Business Excellence). A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for January 6 south of the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.  Tallahassee Reports

HEALTH NEWS

  • Orangetheory Fitness in Tallahassee offers a promotional membership for $2 per day until Jan. 31 to help residents kickstart their health plans for 2026 (the deal started on Dec. 26) with workouts designed for all fitness levels.  Tallahassee Democrat
