- ➤ Nearly 400 people will come together on Saturday at the Canteens and Camo event for a night of dancing, food, and bidding—celebrating the lifesaving work of the Red Cross—and to support local charities. WCTV
- ➤ The 5th Annual Panacea Craft Beer and Oyster Festival will be held tomorrow at Woolley Park on Dickerson Bay in Wakulla County and will run from noon to 4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy free oyster and arts and crafts booths as well as a ticketed beer festival with unlimited samples—an effort to raise funds to revitalize Panacea—while local food trucks, vendors and music add to the event's festive atmosphere. - ➤ Alva Smith, a teacher and Leon County School Board member, was named one of Tallahassee’s 25 Women You Need to Know for 2025—she led a $30,000 book drive that provided over 3,000 books to 13 Title I schools. She also serves as executive director for the Tallahassee Bar Association and has donated a kidney to extend someone’s life. Tallahassee Democrat
- ➤ On Wednesday, a House panel unanimously approved a bill that would repeal a law keeping details on presidential candidates secret and change how state colleges choose leaders—adding term limits for board members and removing confirmation requirements.
