- ➤ The American Red Cross Capital Area Florida Chapter is hosting its 2nd Annual Dine for Disaster Relief Event to raise funds for disaster response to home fires, tornadoes, and hurricanes—proceeds will support efforts across local counties. - ➤ A judge on Friday ordered Daniel Spencer, the stepdad of 5-year-old Missy Mogle who died after alleged abuse in a Tallahassee home in May, to be held without bond—community members had held a vigil to honor her life. WCTV

- ➤ Florida lawmakers extended the session until June 18 — to work on a state budget that must be passed and signed by Gov. DeSantis before the month ends to avoid a partial shutdown. - ➤ FAMU’s Board of Trustees approved a $650k annual salary package for president-elect Marva Johnson after a two-hour meeting on June 6th. Some trustees raised concerns about long-term costs and funding from university partners—while others defended the move, and her appointment will be confirmed by the Florida Board of Governors on June 18.
